Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you'll be greeted warmly by a company representative along with your professional English-speaking safari guide. You'll then be transferred to your reserved hotel in Entebbe city. Check-in, freshen up, and later meet with our company representative and safari guide at the hotel reception for a briefing on your 7-day wildlife and primate safari in Uganda. The hotel is approximately a 10-20 minute drive from Entebbe International Airport.
If time permits, head to the botanical gardens for a nature walk, and then visit Lake Victoria to spot aquatic birds and acclimate to Uganda's stunning natural beauty. Lake Victoria is the largest water body in Africa and the second-largest freshwater body in the world, shared by Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya.
Drive to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and Community Visit
After a delightful breakfast, pack your travel bags into the safari vehicle and embark on a journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Known for its large population of chimpanzees (over 1,500), Kibale is also regarded as the primate capital of Africa, hosting 13 primate species.
You'll enjoy spectacular views of tea plantations, forests, and the mystique of the Rwenzori Mountains as you travel. Stop at Fort Portal City for lunch and a walk around the city, then proceed to the park to check into your lodge.
Later, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk and community experience. The sanctuary is a haven for bird lovers and primates.
Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Tracking – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Katwe Salt Mining Community Visit
After breakfast, join your safari guide for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Embark on a guided forest walk in search of intelligent chimpanzees. Along the way, you might encounter other wildlife species. Spend up to an hour with the chimpanzees, observing them in their natural habitat.
Afterward, travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse wildlife. Before checking into your lodge, visit the Katwe salt mining community to learn about traditional salt extraction practices.
Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel – Evening Game Drive
Begin your day with an early breakfast, then embark on a morning game drive to spot wildlife such as Ugandan kobs, elephants, lions, and more. Enjoy a break for lunch, then take a 2-hour afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see aquatic wildlife and birds.
After the cruise, go on an evening game drive to spot predators as they begin their hunt. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive – Tree Climbing Lions Safari – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, embark on another morning game drive before heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. En route, explore the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the unique tree-climbing lions.
Have lunch and continue your journey to Bwindi, home to half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas and diverse wildlife.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Rise early and prepare for a gorilla trekking adventure with necessary gear. Attend a briefing on what to expect and how to behave around the gorillas. Trek through the forest to find the gorilla family assigned to you.
Spend up to an hour with these majestic creatures, observing their behaviors. Afterward, drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and a canoe safari.
Lake Bunyonyi – Morning Canoe Boat Safari – Return to Entebbe International Airport
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before embarking on a morning canoe safari on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring its 29 islands with a local guide. Learn about the unique history of each island.
After the canoe safari, check out and begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport. En route, visit the Igongo Cultural Museum to learn about the cultural heritage of southwestern Uganda, and stop at the Ugandan equator for a unique experience and photos.
